Has anyone installed a 1kw tranducer on a 28'. Already have a puck in the bildge. Looking to install thru-hull up forward by the holding tank access panel. Any suggestions or comments?

Use 4200 and make sure you put some on the threads of the nut.

The hardest part is getting the fairing block correct

one tip: your fairing block shaped like a oval or canoe, pending on the size of your transducer, small would be out of a piece say +/- 3"x5"x12" purple-hart or similar hardwood while the block is square: drill hole, tune outside edge, center your hull angle at location of trandsducer length wise, using a band saw with a mitre table, have a proffessional make your cuts to save your fingers... Glue one half "top" using 3m* 4200-5200 where you like in the boat. keeping the out side on a flat surface. let dry. then using same hole saw, drill the hull. completely seal hull (resin, 5200,...) put a solid layer of 5200 1/6" to1/8" thick on the second piece to bond it to the hull as you instal the transducer, Keep parllel with keel make permently tight. I usally clean excess off while wet, some let dry and trim w/ blade. **some solvents inhibit curing** If your not making a mess with the 3M your probly not using enough:crying: this method should give you good 90* deg to level...:patriot:
