Went on our first trip for tuna this year. Ran from Half Moon Bay (San Francisco area) Started at 15/00 about 11 miles north of 601. Trolled four hours for nothing. Picked up and ran towards the 601. Trolled there for about an hour before we finally picked up our first single. worked around 00/48 and 56/50. One meat line fish and two bait fish for the day rest on zuchini clones. Ended the day with 7 fish and 5 released not by choice (I think my live bait hooks are too small for these size fish). Had a wonderful crew with my wife Cyndi, My PV and neighbor buddy Mike Pearl, Daryl Omar great angler, Alton Forth long time fishing buddy and newbie to tuna Andrei Konradi. Andrei handled himself very well for a first time tuna guy and will always be welcome on my boat. The weather was unbelievable as were the whale shows. Great first tuna trip for the year, looking forward to next weekend. Tried to post pics but need to figure out how to downsize.
