I need a new zink which goes on the transom of a 290 Open. All I have now are the 4 bolts and nuts which protrude out of the transom. Does anyone know the size of these?
Thanks
John

john,
i m guessing it is the same plate as the 32 - there are two zincs that are close to the same size/shape....the 32 uses a size that is usually not stocked in boat stores. i think it is an M-25. i usually order a couple from boatzincs.com and keep them on hand. i keeP meaning to "upgrade" to a 2 bolt divers dream but havent gotten around to it....my bolts are bent and worn badly....

Thanks, Irish. My plate is completely gone. What's the advantage to the 2 bolt plate?

The divers dream(2 bolt) is a heavier longer lasting zinc.

longer lasting and the bolts on the oem zinc are kind of small and barely long enough to get the nuts on...

Try http://www.boatzincs.com/. They have the best prices I have found for any zincs.

It looks like I will have to start looking closer at Defender. That is a very good price.

Be carful, not all zincs are the same, check the make-up and weight. You'll note a difference in the two mentioned, check the weight difference. weight & make-up=longer lasting and better control.

Partman.com or marine parts wholesale out of River head NY. These guys have hooked me up. Seem to be a one stop shop. I believe the zink your looking for is called a 4" x 7". (this spring) I was able to mesure the bolt spacing. They got'em to me...

So here is the real test:
My defender ZINC was about 65 % gone. I just put replaced it with one from boatzincs.com to see the difference.
however, with that said, my entire dock has been having zinc issues so now we are trying to find out where the problem is.

I have been using an A-25, same shape and hole pattern, even though the boat spec calls for an M-25. Anyone else using A-25s?

According to Defender catalogue, tha "A" anodes are better than just zinc. Supposedly "they last longer than zinc due to increased capacity".

That doesn't make sense to me. The difference between A and M according to their size. The real difference is the bolt pattern size.
