I have '93 350 Tournament which has a single captain's chair mounted behind the bridge helm. I would like to mount a second chair beside it and am curious if there are others who have done this on a similar model. Does the bridge floor require special/additional support or re-enforcement if using a standard aluminum pedestal and 9" base? Are there any special requirements or "tricks" to mounting the pedestal?
Thanks,
Michael

I looked to see if I could find something to see if there was an aluminum landing installed so you could drill and tap it, but was unable to find anything going back that far. Im not personally familiar with that model, but I would certainly think you would need some sort of backing below the pedistal. I imagine there is some way to do it without access, but nothing I am familiar with. You may want to contact the manufacturer of the seat or pedistal and ask them if they are familiar with a way to mount it without access below the mounting surface. Let me know what you find out.
