Looking into Downeast boats and came acroos several 1987-1990 Luhrs Alura examples. Can't seem to find much info on their hull construction (solid vs cored) or how true to the Downeast style they really are (soft chine,semi-displacement). General cruise/fuel flow numbers, handling, etc.

I have a couple young children and like not only the look of these boats, but alos the drop down bunks and the full head.

If anyone has any info/experience, personal or otherwise, with these boats I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

The Alura's were nice boats. I was actually looking at them before I ended up with a 320 Open. I am not sure about solid or cored hulls. There are a bunch out there at a good price. If you find one that has some older 454's in it, they are fuel hogs!

I have a 1986 Alura 30. Repowered last summer, added top, side curtains, electronics, some other improvements. Just returned from a nice 4-day, 200 mile cruise. Very happy with the boat.
