My name is Scott Kingsley and my wife Chris and I live at Hampton Harbor Marina, Hampton, NH. Both our daughters are out of college and on their own, but live close by.
Believe it or not we moved our boat up to Mt.View Yacht Club in Gilford NH last summer from the Ocean. Mt. View is on Lake Winnipesaukee.
We own a 1990, 34 foot Luhrs Sportfisherman model 340. We have completely remodeled the entire boat and replaced almost everything in it. New Crusader engines, new stringers, new flybridge floor, all new interior, all new Raymarine Electronics, etc. etc.
Funny story: I had the boat sold down at the Ocean but the surveyor said the stringers were bad in the back. So I had them all replaced. I then decided to have it hauled 60 miles north to the Lake. The very first day on the boat I had a visitor from another boat tell me he was looking for a boat just like mine for the ocean and have I ever wanted to sell it. Can you believe it! I can't believe what came out of my mouth next.
I immediately told him no, and kept on walking. After spending all that money on restoration I at least wanted to enjoy it for a few years.
True story.
Oh yeah, all our friends that were nervous on the Ocean now love going out on the lake with us and we are booked almost every weekend.
When it was on the Ocean we lived right there so we never slept on the boat. Now we sleep on it every weekend and love it.
We are the only Luhrs on the Lake and I literally have had other boat owners drive up to the boat, when we have been on anchor, and want to ask questions about it. Ofcourse, I always ask them if they have an hour. Ha.
