28 open cockpit

I am in the process of planning the installation a rocket launcher on my boot. Does anyone know if the cockpit floor on 28 open has any kind of reinforcement such as an aluminum plate glassed into the construction or should I just take the extra precaution and place a backing plate and use bolts and nuts instead of tapping screws?

Just an update, installed Release Marine rocket launcher last week. Decided to go with screws through deck backed with large washers and nuts. For other 28 owners, the central cockpit area is approx 2" thick and there is a glassed-in aluminum plate in it.
