We just purchased a Luhrs 290 and are having problems getting one of the trim tabs to operate. When the button is pushed, up or down, you can hear the motor and the tab bumps like it is trying to move.

I haven't taken it apart yet, but has anyone seen this before? My guess is either the tab is gunked up and can't move or the motor is shot.

Anyone know what model Lenco Electric are/were used on the 290. Its a 94 if it makes a difference.

Thanks,
Kent

I have had to replace lots of Lenco's on my 1996. Once you buy one set they are pretty good about honoring their warranty.
I may have a spare one if yours is bad, let me know.

John,
Thanks for the reply. I ended up contacting Lenco directly who said I could just use their standard 101 actuator. We installed the replacement and everything seems to be good to go.

You said you've had to replace lots of Lencos on your 96??? When I replaced mine it looked to have been replaced before. How often should I expect to replace them?

Thanks,
Kent

I had to replace at least one tab every 18 months to 2 years.
A total pain in the butt.
