**** Wanna Be!! ****

Hey guys! I just joined the forum as a wanna - be. I have yet to make my purchase for my first boat but am very close to pulling the trigger. I recently found a 1977 320 Super that I am strongly considering. I have to make a little of a trip to first inspect her then again to have her surveyed. But I am not 100% sure that's the boat for me.

Any advice - information on this particular model or Luhrs in general would be greatly appreciated!

I find it very helpful to look search the internet for articles & reviews on a particular boat. If you look at the history of the Luhrs 320, one thing that you have to watch is that before a certain date, the bottoms of the hulls where not solid fiberglass, they were cored with balsa. If there are penetrations in the hull it can soften up and rot. Luhrs does have a good reputation for making a solid boat.

Do yourself a big favor. Check out www.yachtsurvey.com and get David Pascoes book Mid Size Power Boats before you buy anything. Know what boats are made of and which ones are entry. mid, and high quality level boats before you buy. Doug
