Hello everyone, new member here. Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with a leaking fuel tank. This was not a terrible problem but still a little costly.

Hi River Ghost, I have an older Luhrs, 89 342 . Great boat but found out fuel tank was not harnessed in properly and eventually created a small hole in rear of tank.
Just installed new tanks in the boat. Old tanks had much corrosion due to poor install by local marina in 1990.

Sportfish, I have an 88 342 and have lucked out thus far with the fuel tank issue (knock on wood). I've read about this issue on other sites. Where is the leak likely to occur? Just out of curiosity, how did they fix it?

Hi Overtime, Sorry it took me so long to reply. My tank started leaking on the bottom ridge along the seam at the back of the tank. Unfortunately my tank was not secured properly. I found this out when i removed the deck to install the new tank. All is well now, still feel it is a great boat.
