290 Height with tower down

What is the height of the 290 with the fold-down tower down? I need to know in order to arrange transprot. She is a 2001 290 open. thanks.

I just transported my 290 Open from San Francisco to Tucson. Had to have the tower and the pod removed to make it legal for transport. On the trailer, it was 13' 11" high. No problem with the height since in the west it's 14' legal, if you go much higher, you'll have to have escort and they are expensive. The marina charged me $2100 to remove and secure the tower, haul and put it on my trailer. They claim it took 17 hours. Get a quote up front. I hauled it on a gooseneck trailer myself. No problem except the lousy California roads and nosy cops that stopped me thinking I was doing this for profit. Had all my permits.

We just transported our 290 and we removed the tower ourselves and secured it inside the vessel. There are only four bolts and once those are moved it slides off, we placed it upside down behind the helm and secured in place. This gave us a transport height of 13" on the trailer and worked perfectly. The tower top weighs about 45 lbs we had one person on top hand it down to two below, the whole proces toook less than 30 minutes.
