2006 38 IPS Prototype

I have finally gotten around to taking some pictures of the IPS set up on the 2006 38 Luhrs.
I guess Luhr's offered the boat to dealers to sell and Mayer in New Orleans decided to take it to sell.
It had 148 hours on it when I bought it.
The handling of the boat has had minor issues. A little high in the bow due to the weight of the pods. Does not handle a head sea as well as the 1996, extra weight in the rear and a different center of gravity.
I have had lots of other issues with compatabilty of Volvo components and software. Volvo finally just replaced everything on the boat that said Volvo! Volvo really stepped up and did everthing they could to make her right.
I am totally sold on the technology. If I were to sell her I would have to find another IPS boat.
5 to 6 knots faster then my 1996 38 Luhrs and 5 gallons better fuel economy and the handling is like a sports car!

thanks for the pics and the info. IPS and Zeus certainly seemed poised to take over the 30-45 foot market....speed, efficiency and space....everything you could ask for....

I have both boats listed, just tired of owning 2, whichever sells I'll use the other one.

How does the backrest work with the canvass enclosure that goes right there? Are the snaps on the hardware?
