Hello,
Need Help.
My '89 Tournament 290 Walk Around took on water after my bilge pumps failed. She is all pumped out but water keeps pooling at the transition in the cabin floor deck to the raised deck in the forward cabin. This suggests to me that water is trapped in the compartment under the raised floor and is slowly seeping out. I want to cut inspection ports in the plywood floor but don't want to hit any structural elements. Any suggestions or diagrams that could help me?

I have had the same problem with my '90 tournament. During remodeling of the cabin I found out that the Hull is completely open from front to back. The spaces between the stringers have very small drain holes to the center part of the hull (this is where your pumps are suppossed to be.Also in the center part across there are some supports? with very small openings so the water in the bildge doesn't move as fast as you would like it to. Sometimes you think that the pump has sucked out all of the water and when you come back 5 minutes later there will be water again.
If you want to cut inspection holes (which I do no recommend) you should do it in the centerline as there are no stringers or other electrical stuff that you can damage

Hope this helps
