I am wonering if anyone has any experience with additonal fuel capacity for a 95 32 ft tournament convertible. I am considering buying this boat, but in addition to evaluating some repower options the 272 gal fuel capacity with twin Marine Power 454's is low for 100Mi texas gulf coast fishing. Any ideas on adding fuel capacity would be appreciated.
Thanks

hopefully one or two owners of 32 convertibles will chime in here although i think there many more 32 open owners out there and on this board....
i am doubtful that you will find much room to add additional tankage. flexible tanks for gas are out of the question. im guessing that you could swap out one or both fresh water tanks (i assume they are outboard of the engines as in the Open) in favor of gas tanks. i guess that the convertible carries 50-60gals water like the Open....the hard or impossible part might be geting the water tanks out and the new gas tanks in....i know it isnt possible with diesels..i doubt gassers allow enough space either....pulling motors to do this in a gas boat doesnt seem to make sense at all....
i suspect that adding additional tankage low on a 32 convertible would help the balance of the boat given that many think that is top heavy.....
im thinking that you should look for a diesel 32 convertible or perhaps a different model altogether....price wise for a mid 90s convertible, i m not sure what to point you towards... only silvertom comes to mind....

Grady, Irish is spot on. I too for very similar reason went to the 38 due to limited crusie/fish.
Space and weight as Irish points out limit any under deck additions. Perhaps above deck but with the market today, take another look at a 30 to 41 diesel with tons of fuel capacity and range.
Happy New Year to all,

Thanks for the input. I am still looking for diesel option that will give me range, but I wanted to understand options with the 32 . I really appreciate your input and will look further at the possibility of water tank removal for aux fuel as well as keep looking for disel boats for the right deal.
Also does anyone have input on best options for repower of 32 conv with Diesel.
Thanks again
