I am just curios to see if anyone has upgraded there Halon fire system to one of the new clean agents (FE-241 or HFC-227ea).
Also - Does anyone know the cubic feet of the engine room in a 32 Open? I would guess this space would also include the area around the fuel tank and the aft bildge since it's all connected in open space.

I just had the expired system in our 38 Open done and it was $1500.00 for the new system. I do not know if this helps but I would guess, since my previous boat a 1994 32 Open, it might be about 60-70% of that costs.
I wish I had more specific information but it can only be done by a certified company.
Good Luck

Are you sure about getting it done by a certified company? It is an extreamly simple system (just a closed loop circuit) to connect the wiring to the engine cutout switch. Mounting the tank doesn't seem like it would be much of a task.
My bigger concern was getting the correct size and chemical since there are two. The tanks and all the equipment needed is sold at most marine supply stores.
