Here's one for owners of 3400 or 3420 models. In rough water conditions, I get water on the treasure trays in the vicinity of the forward portholes. Believing the oridgional oval ports were to blame, they were replaced with much better dog down type rectangular ports. I know these are sealed very well with 5200. Still get the leakage, and am now wondering if it could be the rubrail and it shows up at the ports.
Any other owners run into this situation ? Mine is a 1991 model with stainless fitted in the center of the rubber rail.
Appreciate any feedback !

Dan:
I have a 1999 32 ft. Open. The forward hatch has leaked forever. We have changed the seals to some help but have not eliminated the problem.
I am about to seal the damn thing shut with 5200.
Luhrs stated to me that this was a problem in the design and there was no easy fix.
Good Luck !!

I have a 98' 32 Open and have been battling the forward hatch leaking for awhile. It is behind the small wood access panel that leads to the space under the anchor locker. First the PLASTIC thruhull for the anchor drain was loose, fixed that. Then the hose had a crack in it, fixed that. Just started leaking again last week. I think I need to replace the thruhull in the bottom of the anchor locker now. A real PITA.
BTW, the leak shows up well away from the source, under the V berth bed on the floor is where it puddles.

My 1996 38 has leaked in 2 places and after many fixes found that caulking the rubrail top and bottom solved the problem.
Good luck.

I have a leak comming from the port bow on my 1994 32' tournament midway from the bow in the front cabin. I cannot tell where the water is comming from, there are no openings I can see. are there any similar problems out there and how was the leak problem solved?
