Currently we own a 30 open and really like the boat, ride, etc. Early on it had it share of problems but after the first year everything was fixed and we have not had any major issues since. We are thinking of buying a 41 convertible/open but are somewhat concerned about all of the negative talk about this boat, some boat brokers are saying they are real dogs. Now I understand some people might not be fully aware of how poor QA is in the marine industry but every make and model has a few lemons. But would any owners of 41 comment on their experience with the boat both good and bad, problems, issues, things that are good fishibility etc.

You might want to contact "Pickles", if you look a couple of threads down in this forum there was an inquiry about buying a 41 Open and a response by a person who had just purchased a 41 Convertible and really liked it.

Just curious, what boat are the brokers trying to sell you that say Luhrs is a dog? Some of these brokers own Luhrs and sell them to their own customers. Makes ya wonder about their integrity.

We purchased a new 06 41 Conv about 6 months ago and have thoroughly enjoyed the boat so far. We traded up from an 02 36 Convertible. We have made 3 trips to the Bahamas and one to the Keys so far. The boat has handled very well in both rough and following seas. BTW, we have the new vintage hull, the same as the 41 Open. All of the earlier complaints seam to have stemmed from the older hull on the 04-05 models. My wife is very happy with the additional space and comfort of the cabin areas, as we have spent up to 2 weeks on board. Other than minor cosmetic defects and repairs, which Luhrs has taken care of, we have had no problems whatsoever.

We would recommend the 41 Convertible to anyone looking for a good fishing boat with very comfortable accomodations.

Hello there I own a 07 41 Conv and had a few cosmetic problems with it but nothing serious. We travel back and forth to the Bahamas all the time and never had any issues.

Greetings,
I have run a 2007 41 open quite a bit. The boat is solid and handles great.
Very few issues and all minor when it was new. Luhrs took care of them.

I have owned a 1996 and a 2006 38 and both have been good boats. I have put over 4500 hours on the pair so my boats are used often.

For the price and what you get I don't know of another boat that can compare. Spend a lot more and you might get a better boat.

I had my 35 Convertible at Sailfish for a month this summer. Love that place. Great access to the fishing grounds. We've been very happy with the 35, other than the early "new boat" mostly cosmetic issues, like everyone else.

Things were fine with our boat until the rudders broke lose and then again after the repair. With any luck we can figure out what is causing this, like the boat otherwise, QSM'S are nice engines.
