I have a 2000 360 convertible with the canvas top. I notice that on the web for the 36 convertible one picture has a soft top and the next has a fiberglass top. The frame looks the same on both boats.

Can I convert my existing soft top to a fiberglass hard top using the same frame? If it can be done, does Luhrs sell the fiberglass top or would I need to go to a fabricator to have one made?

Has anyone tried this and was it successful or am I just asking for structural problems?

Any info would help.

Thanks

I have the same boat, last year I looked into what it would take to replace the canvas with a hard top, what I found was that there was no "pre made" top that would fit right on the existing frame. I did locate a business on the web that fabricates hard tops for all kinds of boats, I got a quote from them that would include a new frame and hard top that was right around 5,600 dollars. I opted for spending 400 dollars on a new soft top. Off the top of my head I cannot remember the companies name, if I find it I will let you know. There may be some way just to fabricate a hard top to fit on the existing frame, but I would be concerned on the weight, there is a lot of pipe up there that is not needed if you would put a hard top on.
