I currently have a contract on a 1991 350 Tournament pending Inspection and Survey. Anything I need to be particularly aware of or inspect closely?
I of course plan to have a professional out of water hull survey, but I am also interested in knowing about any specific issues with this particular model or year. Thanks,

Not sure on this but I seem to recall reading in a previous thread that in and around the late 1980s and early 1990s Luhrs was building hulls that used coring below the water line. Hulls that are cored below the waterline can have more problems with water infiltration than of course solid fiberglass. If you call Luhrs with the hull number they might be able to tell you if this is one of those hulls. Good luck with your purchase!

Hello,
I own a 1994 T-350 and have been very happy with it.
Would recommend that you have a separate engine survey done, as this is a solid, heavy boat and the engines will need to be in good shape to push the hull efficiently.

I am in a similar situation with a 2000 32 open The survey is this Thursday.
I am having an oil sample taken from the engines and sent for analysis which cost about $50 per sample. I did check with a local CAT dealer and they wanted $750 per engine for an inspection which I thought was pretty high for an inspection. They also wanted $200 for travel expense since they were aprox 1 hour from the marina.
