Any particular year? Are you trying to decide between two boats? If so... What functions would best suit you??? May I ask, What values do you base performance on? I also over the years have been courious about the Carolinas...

Mostly I am very practicle, bells and whistles dont impress me I want a solid hull with a dependable power plant (CC 25 water ingestion issues) so Im leaning to the 94 250 open w/single inboard MP 454, I mostly fish the Ches-bay but enjoy running offshore 4 to 5 times a season and want the security of a larger heavy boat for those unforcasted situations, My current boat is a 22' IMP walkaround w/single O/B on a brackit have ran out over 80 miles out of VB to fish but perfer to trailer to N.C. and run off. I still want to trailer and both boats afford this option I have several friends w/CC25s and 28s and they are a very good boats, however cost is still a concideration in this choice
Your turn..............

I have not been on a 25 of either. I've been running 28's. I have owned a silverton '73- 28' solid hull, nicely assembled , ply -wood core and screwed in blkheads with a wood/cloth top, a maitnence chore. single screw. ???mediocre.
I still have a bertram '87- 28' FBC !!! Nice boat!!! twin mercrusers, almost all glass. very solid, well made. Nice plane, small rudders and deep vee. A bit like a weeble wobble when adrift. This boat only has upper helm, this makes her harder to fish solo... very together FOR SALE...
with an addiction tough to be satisfied, I now own a '97-29' luhrs, Also a very nice boat!! center helm and great lay out makes her a dream to run... all glass and strong tabbing at the bulk heads make for a sturdy hull and solid feel. I havent felt her twisting much... nice bow lip, tho the wind sheild I don't have would keep out most of the blue water, I like the comfort of twins off shore...and docking. reasonably easy to acess most items. a lot of boat for the money... I wish I had diesels... The only option for a single, off shore. I would say...
These boats all handle so diffrently and have diffrent gear, If I were going to buy another one I would realy want to spend the day on one... the condition of the builge will tell many stories...
