im looking at buying a T380 with 2x450 detroits ,can anyone tell me what to expect as far as cruise speed , top speed ,prop configuration and may be fuel consumtion ? i know this will change with the load on board but someone's experience of this will give me a rough idea. These boats are not that well known down here in NZ so if any one can help it would be most appreciated

Dave...Mine is gas, so it won't help much.
However I have been looking for a while into the idea of converting to Diesel and have what the performance of these.
Is the one you are looking at a Convertible? if yes, they cruise anywhere from 21-24 kts with the 485 hp 671 Detroits. Top out at about 27 knts. I have no idea on the gph....
If you are looking at an open, maybe "HisDoghouse" can help you out.

Greetings,
I have a 1996 380 with Cat 420HP.
She cruises at 23 knots and burns about 34 gallons total per hour at the cruise speed.
I have 25x28 Nibral 4 blade props.

Dave,
Good luck with your purchase.
Just bought my 1998 38 Open with Yanmar 420's. With dirty bottom and props needing finishing and balancing, the sea trail was as follows:
Calm sea
5 on board
100 gals fuel
80 gals water
cruise: 2200 rpm 21.7 knots
WOT: 2760 rpm 25.7 knots
Burn rate: estimate no instruments on boat: cruise 14-15 gph, WOT 22-23 gph each side
Prop configuration will depend on how she turns up in the sea trial. If she is WOT at factory spec you are pretty darn close to DSP.
