What kind of help are you needing?

My dock side power is a 15A GFI with shore power cord 3 prong adapter
50' 30A cord to my boat plug in. The GFI holds with the power cord pluged in and the main switch to off. When I throw the switch the gfi trips. I have checked the polarity and it is not reversed. All circuits are in the off position except the main when I throw the main breaker. Any Ideas?

Are you sure your dockside outlet is 15 amp and not 30? GFICs are VERY sensitive, it would seem to me that if you are trying to pull 30 amps with your electrical load on you boat thru a GFIC rated at only 15 amp you are going to trip it every time.

Esquire is right. If you are trying to run your boat on a 15A outlet on your dock, you are going to pop the GFI. You have to use load management on the boat. If you only have 15A availability on your dock. You can only be pulling that much with the equipment. Your battery charger on and one other thing could easily do that.
Also, if you have a long run to your dock outlet and you didn't use bigger wire going out to the outlet. You could lose a little in the distance.

Hope this helps.
