All,
I am considering repowering my 29 open with diesels. However, I really don't like the way they cram the in line diesels into the boat. I haven't seen any diesel installation in a 29 that I would want. Does any one have a diesel setup that fits in the boat with room to actually service the engine?
Also, it looks like the manufacturer offered this boat with either 220 hp or 315hp diesels. This seems like a huge difference to me.
Top speed doesn't matter much to me. I'm more interested in cruising speed which in my case is usually 18-19 knots. If top speed is around 24knots that would be fine.
If anyone has any experience with repowering in Southern California I would be interested in hearing about your experience and any recommendations you have.
