I asked this question in a prior string but did not hear the answer I was looking for so I will ask again. I own a 36 SX and want to mount a life raft on
the fore deck. The cabin has a plastic ceiling and I was wondering if anyone
has mounted a life raft and how they got to the nuts under the ceiling to tighten. Thanks

Bimini Tom,

Check out this link. I used these to install tiedown loops into the foredeck of my boat to tie down my RIB Dingy on the bow. It should work well for mounting your liferaft.

They come in Stainless. I used 4200 sealant during the install.

Good Luck.

Thank you for a great idea. I almost bought but each one requires a half inch hole and with three holes for each bracket leg I am not sure I want to go that route. Thanks again for the response.

I did this installation on a previous boat and simply used self tapping screws with 5200 adhesive sealant. There is litterally no stress on the screws and I never had a problem with any of them loosening up.

LITERALLY NO STRESS:dunno:

How do you justify that...most rafts weigh in at 60+ lbs. Go 22 knots in a 2-3' sea and those screws have lots of stress. Both vertically and shear.
