My friend is looking at a 1994 29 Open with Marine Power Engines 260 HP.
Do any owners have experience with this boat that can give me some pros and cons?
Thanks,

I dont have any experance with the 29 open, but I did have a 32 open with the 454 marine power engines. I mentioned in a pervious posting, I had between 2500 and 2600 hours on the engines and were still running great when I sold the boat. I did have a couple of issues with the engines (Its a boat right) but nothing ever too serious. I did use Marine Power factory assistance a couple of times and they were always helpful. If the engines have been taken care of and not run hard they should give ok. Sorry I do not know much about the 29 hull.

tom,
I have a 1997 29 open with Marine Power 350 CID engines. I love it. Speed is good. Cruises economically (for a gaser) at 19 knots (3100 rpms), top end is 28+ knots. Ride is fantastic always dry. Doesn't pound or take water over the bow. The wide beam provides a large cockpit and seating area. Fishes 4 with plenty of room. Women don't like the bunk arrangement as there is no double berth.
Now is a great time to buy as you can name your price. I highly recommend going diesel due to fuel cost. But with the way the economy is prices are way down and will probably go lower as fuel costs increase.

Hi Chuck. I just bought a 1998 T290 open. Didn't get a chance to use it yet. Can you tell me what kind of mileage I can expect from it? Same setup as yours.
Thanks
John
