When is your new boating season going to start - and what are your plans for your first trip? :patriot:

I will be working on and preparing my boat every weekend from now on attempting to splash it by April 15th. Its tough in the North East due to the weather. Jersey isn’t too bad but the cold days makes it more difficult. Early season fishing is not much in New Jersey, my first trip will be for Stripers or bottom fishing for Sea Bass and Blackfish.

We usually launch around May 1. The way the weather has been this spring :dunno:it looks like we will be late this year. I need to install a new windlass, wax, paint the bottom and organize the boat after the winter. If the rain stops maybe I'll get the windless installed next week. I need to fill the holes from the old windlass before I can install the new one. My wife is going to Chicago May 8th to visit with our daughter for mothers day. It would be nice to have it in by then so I could start cleaning the topsides. It looks like it may be the middle of the May this year before we can get in the water.:banghead::banghead:

Sounds like we in the midwest are suffering from the same crappy weather that the east coast is having. I plan to head to the boat this weekend and get the shrink wrap off and start getting her ready to launch hopefully by the first of May as well. We've got a number of popular fishing tournaments out of my marina for Coho in May that I'd like to get into... all depends on the dang weather. one day we will be in the sixties the next in the thirties... arrgh.

Well all the jobs I needed to complete on the hard have been completed. Including switching out 7 ball valves due to the recall. That job certainly added a few hours. I have more maintenance to complete but it can be done in the water. Anyone else close?

Well the weather has gotten much better since my last post. I have been able to install the new windlass and the transducer for my fish finder. We waxed the hull the weekend of April 12 and painted the bottom last weekend. I have surprised myself and the boat is now ready for launching. I have scheduled the launch date for May 2. We are looking forward to the new season but not the fuel prices!

Going In Today!!!:party::hurray:

Got all of my winter projects completed....finally. Installed a new chartplotter with the fishfinder integrated and a 1Kw Transducer for the canyons (man running the ducer wire from the hull to the bridge was a chore). I also installed Tides Marine dripless packing so no the bilges should stay dry.

Can't wait to get out fishing....but fuel is $4.50 per gallon now:(

Will be heading for the Summer dock on Saturday. Sure glad the forecast is not like last weekend.
