 Got a problem.

My boat has twin 68' LM318 225hp. I replaced the Impellers on my Jabsco raw water pump, hooked the hoses back up, and fired it up. She ran great, but strated to get hot. Anyways, I think the pump is not throwing any water. I disconnected the outlet hoses for the pump and fired it up again. And, no water. So, I disconnected the inlet hose and I've got water going to the pump. however, no water leaving the pump.
What am I doing wrong?

:)I figured it out last night.
My problem was that the previous owner had work done to it by a local marina mechanic (meaning that I assumed they would have installed it right, I guess everyone makes mistakes). When I reinstalled the pump, I reinstalled it back the way it was on the motor when I found it. Having never installed one before I put it back the way I found it. However, it was on backward. The pump is directional. The pump was trying to pull water from the motor into the feed instead of pushing water from the feed into the motor. I reversed the direction and it's pumping now.
I hooked the hoses back up and the motor runs great.
I now have to check the port motor before I try to run it and have the same problem.
Thank you Derek for the response,
