Hello to all:

I am interested in purchasing a Luhrs 36 Convertible 1998, 2000 or so. I have a couple of questions:

1) Any feedback on the qualities (good or bad) of this type of boat?
2) Any experience with the Catterpillar 420 HP engines? Specifically what cruising do they provide and what consumption levels?

Thanks a lot.

Hello,
I would highly recommend this boat. I have a 2000 360 Convertible and love the boat. Have had it for going on 8 years I responded to your THT posting so take a look there if you are interested. Some of the good qualities are that it is easy to handle around the docks, handles the rough stuff well, Very comfortable for me and two boys and two labs. Bad?... not really any I can think of, some annoying things, mine came with a dual tank monitoring system, you would figure one sensor for the fresh water and one for the waste right? nope they stuck both sensors in the fresh water and none in the waste...had to upgrade the fresh water pump to get full enjoyment out of the system, i.e. showers were a bit hazardous alternating between cold and scalding hot water until I put in one of those sensor max pumps, now it works great... I know these are all kinda piddly things but I really have had no problems with the boat. Had a 32 express before so there was a big difference in the room. Great boat overall.
