We've been having our Luhrs since Dec 2006. We purchased it through the auctions after the Katrina Storm. It's a 1986 34' Express .. It was down in the marina for engine work when the storm hit and it went adrift near Mobile, Ala. The boat stayed afloat and dry throughout the whole ardeal.
The boat was needing a repower, and we've decided to undertake the task.. I chose two Cummins 6BTA's for the project. I purchased them from a vehicle salvage yard taken from crashed trucks.
In the middle of the project I decided to pitch the old employer and start a business of our own, this has kept me from the boat project for nearly a year now, but we're back at it again and making great strides.
I'll be placing the first engine in the hull later in the month..
