Where are you fishing; NE canyons (80-100 miles off), Southern Gulfstream (10-15 miles off)
Preparation is the key;
A good sounder and separate water temp guage will help
Temp charts can be of good use too for targeting the right areas
Bait depends - you can use butterfish if you're targeting Yellowfin in the NE Canyons - it's a good bait for drifting/chunking
If you're trolling, strip baits (i.e., bonito strips) or ballyhoo are good - try a combination of naked and skirted.
Live baits are great if you can get them, but access to it depends on where you are.
Good luck!

I will be in the NE Cayons. What about Squid? I hear people using live squid. another thing, what about line, how many lb. test do you suggest? I have a few Tuna rods but i spooled them long ago and can't remember what I put on it.
