Would like any feedback on Luhrs 30 Open Years 2003 - 2005.... The boat setup I am looking at is with Cumm QSB's 380 done in 2005 on a 2003 Hull. Upgraded through the roof. Has anyone taken these boats offshore? How is ride and performance? Coastal Cruising performance? Seems as if V Berth setup is a little tight but I have found no perfect solution to all needs.
I am also offered a Tiara 31 Open LE same engine setup. Are there any opinions between purchasing either or? We like the lines of the Luhrs but the resale and salon setup of the Tiara...:dunno:
Luhrs @ $150,000.00 Tiara @ $ 169,000.00 These are negotiated prices..
Thanks Much!

We purchased new a 2004 Model 30 Hardtop. Twin 315hp Yanmars. Very satisfied with the boat overall. We use it for near offshore sport fishing inside 50 miles off of Sabine Pass Texas. Very stable vessel. Has been thru 2 hurricanes (Rita and Humberto) with minimal damage. Not sure if just answered prayer, good luck or strength of vessel. Probably all. We also use the boat for day cruising.
Best regards,

Don,
I am selling my 2006 Luhrs 28 Open. It has the Yanmar 240 Diesels w/50 hours on them and the full Tower. The boat is loaded with most options offered by Luhrs.
The boat also has Raymarine C120 Chartplotter and the Weather Enclosure. I am asking $169K for the boat. Although they call it the 28 Open, the boat is 32' LOA and 11'6" on the beam. It is a big boat and handles absolutely GREAT in offshore conditions.
I am probably going to move up to the 35 Convertible.
Let me know if you are interested.

HI guys
Thank you both for the replies. The final decision came down to price and overall effectiveness of satisfying both the needs of me (fishability) and my families ( time in shore and overnight.)
A broker I was working with came across a trade Tiara 31le 2003. Picture perfect set up for fishing, twin cummins 6B's 330 and the salon area on this boat can not be beat. The pricing is usually in the low 200 but I bought for under 170.
Just going through this I now know how you get caught up in moving up. The space is definetly needed offset by the pocketbook. Anyway this gives me a great vessel to use while I keep looking for my sportfisherman. I will probably stay Luhrs and go to the 36 open.
Good luck with your boats.
