Last Spring, I painted the bottom of my Luhr's with an expensive (Interlux) multi season, ablative ,bottom paint. The vessel was hauled today and power washed. Doesn't the power washing remove the ablative paint ? How can you get multi seasons from an ablative when it's power washed at haul out?

paint the boat with one coat of a base color, then put two coats of your choice color. When you start to see the base color show through, it's time for a new coat. Powerwash will take some paint off but not all of it.
For example, my base color is black and the outer coat is blue. I touche up the 'black' sections each spring and if there is a lot of black, I give the entire bottom a new coat.

Thanks, Sounds like a good idea to me.

I use Micron CSC and paint my bottom 1X year. Micron Extra has more copper in it and may last a little longer. I use a diver 1X month to clean the bottom. Powerwashing if done from the proper distance won't remove too much of the paint, but even among quality paints, I would expect too much in the way of multi-season (year) performance.
Good luck!

I do the same with two colors. I am starting new with a black base coat this season and will be painting on two coats of micron CSC. Hauled out once a year and stays out for winter. Hoping for 2 seasons with boat left in apr-dec.

I am getting 2 seasons out of Sea Hawk Biocop TF.
I stay in the water and touch up the main wear areas during my annual haul to check my drives.
I used to use Micron 66 but think the Sea Hawk last longer.
