I need to replace the soft top on my half tower on a 360 Convertible. I have the top, along with what seems like miles of cord. It has been suggested to me to just us the plastic ties instead of the cord. Does anyone have any experience with doing either as well as any suggestions? :dunno:

I have a lot of these. I really does not take that long to lace one. You can order one though Luhrs and the chord comes with it. If you have 2 people doing it, you can keep it even as both of you work both sides of the top.

Hope it helps

wow, that was quick! ok, one question, when you say have two people are you saying that you should start say in the middle of the front of the frame and each person should then lace away from each other to meet then in the back? Or just have one person lacing with another just holding?

Yes, Have 2 people start in the middle of the front and work your way around each side together to keep the gap of the canvas top even with the frame. The when you meet in the back, you both can go back and snug it up to make the canvas tighter. Goes a lot quicker.

Good Luck

Esquire,
If you are going to do the job alone, use the plastic wire ties to get the top on and aligned straight and tight. Then you can lace the cord and cut the ties as you get to them.

Thanks for the information. We just got 12 inches of snow, so it will be a while before I can get to the project... think spring, think spring, think spring...

You could always bepass the canvas top and build an igloo.:thumbup1:

What is the approx cost of the replacement soft top from Luhrs for a 360 convertable?

Thanks,
Michael

It was @ 400.00 for the top, with the lacing and shipping. I got it directly from Gioia Sails, they were extremely helpful. I would suggest that you contact them if you are looking for a top. They were not sure that they still had the template for the top that would fit my boat and actually shipped me one free of charge to make sure that it would fit.
Good luck.

Wow, that is much cheaper than I expected. I have a 1993 360 convertable. What year is yours? What color did you have made? I assume the template they sent, fit your boat with no modifications?

Thanks,
Michael

I am assuming it fits, I was unable to get it on before the winter, but I did "dry" fit it so to speak and I do not think I will have any problems. My boat year is 2000, and it is white, the underside is grey exactly like the original top.
