I am impressed with the performance of the drives and I really like the 31. I am considering the 31 for my next Luhrs.
Question: How do you keep growth off of the exposed drives? I'm sure some consideration was given because most of them will be in salt water. Any Info?

We are now starting to use prop speed to keep them clean.

I love propspeed, I have been free of any growth here in the Chesapeake Bay for 18 months. can I assume that everything under water is metal ? Is it aluminum or bronze or a combination?
Thanks

papagayo,
A couple of questions.
How much growth do your neighbors in Deltaville get? Our growth problems can get pretty bad here at the southern end of the Bay.
Did you do the application yourself, or did you have someone do it for you?
Was propspeed applied to all the underwater running gear (i.e. props, shafts, rudders, trim tabs, struts)? If not, what did you leave out?
Any idea of how much I would need to apply to my 38 Open?
Thanks in advance,
Joe

I coated the shaft strut and prop. I had Norview do the work but, it was just because of time for me.
Mine would coat up very bad in 1 month in the summer if I wasn't running it every day. Usually had to pull it a couple of times a year just to clean the prop and recoat. Tha is the usual in Deltaville.

Yes all of the underwater wquipment is metal. All thru hulls are bronze.
Volvo is coating the drives a the factory before we get them and we coat the props. We have one of the boats here that was coated about a year ago and it is still good. We get a lot of growth in Florida and the boat does not run as often as we would like due to time. But when it is pulled out to wash the hull. The gears are still clean.
