When I purchased my 320 convertible the trim tabs did not work. While to boat was at the dock I was able to get tabs running again. My question is how far off of the hull should the trim tabs go. Currently the only go down approximately 2 inches. Is this normal, just does not seem like two inches would do that much. Boat was hauled out prior to running it after the tabs were fixed. Boat will be in the water in two weeks.

I've never measured mine down but I am pretty sure it would be more like 4"? 2" doesn't seem far enough.

Just go t off of the phone with Bennett and they stated that Luhrs had ordered all of their trim tabs to have a short stroke than normal. This was at the request of the Luhrs engineers. The tabs only travel 1.75 inches. This does not seem like much, but at least I don't have another issue to deal with!:drool5:

do a search here on trim tabs and you will find my posts on this subject....longer stroke is the way to go!! i m guessing even more so for the convertible which rides even more bow high than the open....

Interesting. When my boat was last out for a bottom job, I had to clean some crud off the top of the trim tab & I'm sure it came down furthur than 2". But it dosen't take a whole lot. I've seen fishing/workboats that would run a rope underneath the stern part of the hull which would trim the boat. seems strange but it is a poorman's trim tab.

Look at the #2 photo of DPDASH's haul out (recent post) shows the trim tab down at least 3/4 inches.
