Replacing pump on 2002 32 Open.

Is the pump 24v or 12v? I dont have the wiring diagram (at boat). I assume 24v but thought someone here might know. Want to make sure pre-order.

Thanks in advance.

It's 12v. I replaced mine last summer.

They changed the wiring a bit. On the older models (mine was a 2000), you had this extra small device in the wiring. It is no longer needed as they built that into the pump.

I called bennett about the extra device and was told to remove it and everything works fine now.

If you have any questions let me know.

Mine is 12v, and they seem to be built off a standard pump unit. - Bennett pumps are pretty simple - you can download their catalogs and order virtually any part from them.

Pump replaced. Have decided to replace the actuators as well. Does anyone know if they are the standard size (13 3/4") or the shorter version (11 3/4")?

I think you will need to check with Luhrs parts or call Bennett directly. Bennett actually made the stainless tabs and actuators specially for Luhrs.

FYI, a standard Bennett actuator has about an inch of shaft showing when fully retracted. The Luhrs actuator has no shaft showing out the bottom of the cylinder when fully retracted. There are 2 “stops” inside the actuators and by changing these stops you can vary the overall length and /or stroke.

What you may want to consider is contacting Bennett to change the actuators and removing the stops to give you an extra 1" or so of travel. We did this and it allows more tab deflection when running into a headsea or if the boat is very heavily loaded/everyone is in the cockpit. It makes a difference -we changed them out in 2003 and are very happy.

The change to an actuator with an additional 1” travel takes only a few minutes and you would not have to disturb the plumbing to the hydraulics at all, the switch would happen outside the boat and you would not have to remove the actuator. The can give you a “detached” actuator which is the cylinder part only, all you’ll have to do is disconnect the tab from the actuator, grab hold of the cylinder and unscrew it, then replace with the detached actuator they supply.

Try for Steve Moyer at Bennett 954-868-0986....if not, there should be enough info here for them to help you.

Steve helped us navigate this easily and it changes the running angle of the boat nicely when needed without negatively affecting handling or fuel economy.
