yanmar 6by oil gauge problem

Does any body know what will cause oil pressure gauge to bounce around from 30 To 180 Lbs. I have electronic Read Outs.Will To Much Oil Cause This I am Over the Full Mark By About 1/4"

Nice to hear from someone else with the 6BY engines, no reason they are fluctiating from being 1/2 quart over, did my oil change today and all was well, might be a loose ground or sensor,
just got my boat a few weeks ago, 2009 28 open,

I have a 99 32 Open with Cumming 330 diesels. MY starbord engine guage would bounce around and go to zero at times. My mechanic changed the sending unit on the engine and that fixed the glitch.
