Crusing NJ to Fl

I'm taking my boat to Key West Fl this November for 6 months. I have done a lot of crusing but its been up north in the NY and CT area. Does anyone have any words of wisdom to offer going south.

When you come down stop in the little town of Deltaville, VA. Lots of boats and the only Town with 2 West Marine stores. Locals a friendly and there is some good food available.
