The specifications in the manual state the weight is 8500 lbs. The Brochure for the boat states 9500lbs. does anyone have an accureate weifgt for the 1991 Tournament 300 open? I just bought a 13000lb lift and it will not haul the boat without tripping the breakers. Help.

I would start thinking about the electrical connections, wire and the breaker. The connections could be getting coroded, the wires may be undersized or the breaker itself may be undersized. Electric motors take a lot of AMPs to actually run and even more at startup.

How far does the lift raise the boat before the time it trips the breaker?

Manufacturers weight is determined at time of production. No Fuel, no water, no gear, no bottom paint, no towers or tops etc. Over the years your hull has absorbed some water as well.

I agree with Witeagle. Check the size of the supply wires. When the motor first kicks on & under a heavy load it will draw more amps and may require a larger gauge wire. It also depends on how far you have run the supply from the source, the longer the run the larger the gauge required.
