I am very concerned with the recent rumor on other internet sites regarding Luhrs going out of business. I am looking to move-up to another Luhrs very soon and Luhrs lack of a statement has me worried. The mainship factory in Georgia is now closed and reports of a buy-out from Bertram will end the Luhrs Company. If this is a false report, please make a statement. I can't imagine one bad boat (41) could end a great line of boat. Please say it aint so !!!

Jolly Man,
Where else have you heard this rumor? I am aware of the forum where it was brought up but there was no source given by that person. Given the tenor of that forum it is likely that it was just made up for shock value. I have seen NOTHING anywhere else that gives that rumor any credence. The fact that Luhrs has just released two new models within the last year, the 41 Hardtop and the 35 Conv. it does not seem to be acting like a company on the verge of closing or being bought out. So I would be interested in hearing if you have any more substantial information about this.

I also heard this rumor from C3 services. They are the South Florida/former Northside Luhrs repair service. I have had some work done on my boat and was told this was true. I also spoke with Jim Pennix, former northside salesperson. he said he was told the same thing. I do not know if it is true or not, but Derek said Luhrs will be making a statement by early next week to stop all the rumor. I look forward to reading this statement. I hope it is posted here first.
