:confused1:I just bought a 1978 25' Luhrs with flybridge. Now I need to buy a trailer for it. Anybody can help find the weight of the boat so the trailer can carry it?
Thank you

Thank you very much, logadmin. It really answered my question. So it's 5400 pounds.

you'll need a tri-axle, with brakes on two of the axles. I'd also look into upgrading your hitch to the 14000 lb ultimate hitch

Is there any worry about the height with the flybridge?

For a 5400 pound boat you won't need a triple axle trailer, just a standard two axle with 5,000 lb axles and a 8,000 lb 2" ball hitch. That way, you can safely and legally tow a 5,400 lb dry weight boat, add I'm guessing 100 gal of gas @ 6lbs per gal= 600 lbs, and a few hundred more pounds of assorted junk, tackle, coolers etc. and be under the hitches 8,000lbs gross weight. Can you put more on the trailer than that, yes- legally, no.

I have a 25' 1968 flybridge that I'm currently restoring. I took a 10,000 lb 22' trailer and extended it another 6' for my boat (welded a new tongue and added to the rear) and it currently only has brakes on one axle, but I will soon add brakes to the second axle. Right now I'm only towing a bare hull, but once I drop in the engine, tranny and velvet drive having another set of brakes, although not a requirement, will be comforting.

As far as the height, depends how high your trailer sits, but mine is kinda high, and I'll be right at 13' high, which gives me 6" to play with to keep in accordance with the DOT or whatever they call it these days.
