When we ship boats now, I believe the boat can be no higher than 13'. We dont ship any CVs with the bridges attached nor do I believe we ever have. I think the regulations change state to state. For example California is a bear to move boats around in at times. I would check with your state DOT as to what they will allow. -Jeff

Hi this is my first time in this forum.
Yes the only way is to removed the briege, that is the only way the trasnport truck will be able to clear any over pass. but if you make that desition and removed the brieged make sure that you let some one that have doned before. Is not and simple task. I purchased my luhrs from clarks Landing Marina in N.J and I have the same problem. I have to transport my luhrs 320 to V.A but the broker told me that will be very costly. the boat have to be no more that 14' high went is loaded in the truck. also you have to pay for all the permits required to transtported in the roads, and if the truck have cross diferent state lines you have to pay for the permits individually. In my case I will have to pay one for N.J one for D.E and one for V.A at a cost of $375.00 per permit. not including the removal adn reinstalletion fo the F.B.

Bought my 32" Open in Long Island and drove back to home port in Deltaville, Va. Spent 1 night on the boat, bu you should be able to make it all in 1 day. Deltaville C-Gal

My 3400 MY would have had to have the FB taken off, Also besides permits, some states required a chase vehicle because it would be considered a wide load. This was a couple months ago but it was $3.50 /mile for the tow vehicle and $1.50 /mile for the chase vehicle. That aside from the flybridge removal/re-installation, etc I drove mine from Tampa to Rockport Tx.... Hope that helps.

Hey patriotlbm,
You do have to take the flybridge off to get it down the road. This is including the console. When we use to ship them in the 90's If you were using a low belly truck. We were able to get it down around 12' 8". The bridge was put on a cradle that was built for it.
Good Luck

We bought our 32 Flybridge in Upstate NY, near the Canadian border. We had the same dilema, and opted to bring the boat home via water. We had a great cruise thru the Erie canal system, down the Hudson River, down into NY, over to Fisher Island sound, going up thru the Cape Cod Canal and home to just north of Boston. It was a great trip. We really got to "know" the boat, and we completed the trip in 6 days, only because we got caught in bad weather in Newport.
